what does it mean by "indirect sun (not filtered by windows)"?

“Indirect Sun (not filtered by windows)” refers to locations which do not receive direct sun rays but yet are bright enough for plants to photosynthesise. Or they might receive direct sun rays for less than 4 hours every day.

When placed about 30cm away from a white canvas, the shadow formed by the leaves is quite dark and fuzzy because light source is not strong.
