Q) What are these plants and why is it so tiny?
A) These are tissue culture plants created in the lab in Thailand. They are mostly philodendron plants, which are popular houseplants because in the wild, they live in lower light conditions in the wild. So they are suitable to be placed at homes. 

Q) Why do some of the plants have white splashes?
A) Those are variegations, either natural occurring or man made in the lab. Variegations are a result of chlorophyll deficiency. If you have a variegated plant, remember to give it more light as it has lesser chlorophyll to trap light and make food. 

Q) Why are some of them in sphagnum moss and some of them in soil mix? 
A) Before the root system develops (roots about 1cm), it requires very high humidity to survive. So sphagnum moss retains the most water and can provide it with the water it needs. 

However, after the root system has developed, it requires nutrients to grow well and soil would be more suitable in providing nutrients. 


Q) How often do I water it in the sphagnum moss?
A) The rule of thumb is to keep the moss lightly moist to moist at all times. If you are worried it would dry out, we would suggest using cling wrap to induce humidity. You can either spray daily or run water thoroughly through the moss every 2 days. 

Q) Where should I place it?
A) Most of them can withstand medium light. However as a baby plant, you might want to place them at a brighter location so they can grow faster. 

Q) How can I make them grow faster?
A) You can spray root roids once a week. When you purchase the baby plant, we offer the add on root roids solution. 

Q) How often should I water it?
A) For Monsteras, Philodendrons and Anthuriums, repot in “Forest” soil mix and you may water it every week. Keep the soil lightly moist. The plants usually do not die the next day if you forget to water. They usually look more wrinkled and droopy so those are signs of a lack of water. 

For Syngoniums and Jewel Orchids, repot in “Lake” moisture retaining soil mix and water every 2-3 days as they tend to be more thirsty. 

Q) Where should I place it?
A) Most of the breeds, especially the green ones, are able to withstand medium light because in the wild, that’s the type of lighting they get. However, if your breed is variegated (meaning it has white/pink splashes), you should place it somewhere brighter e.g. indirect sun next to the windows instead.

Q) How long will it take for them to outgrow the pot?
A) It will take about 3-5 months. If you’d like to speed up the growth, spray root roids once a week. When you purchase the baby plant, we offer the add on root roids solution. 

For monsteras, anthuriums and philodendrons, once the root system has developed, repot in soil mix that’s chunky, so the thick roots of these plants can grasp onto them. The Plant Loft forest soil mix is most suitable. 

For syngoniums and jewel orchids, once the root system has developed, repot in soil mix that’s moisture retaining, so these thirsty plants can get the water they need. The Plant Loft Lake soil mix is most suitable.
